All within a short drive of Ventnor New Jersey there are 13 parks in the Atlantic County Park System, only a few of the best places for hiking, bike rides, picnics and day trips are featured here.
The most popular park in Atlantic County is Estell Manor Park only a 1/2 hour drive from Ventnor and well worth a visit. A beautiful park of 1700 acres bordered by the Great Egg Harbor River the park offers boating, canoeing and kayaking with launches. There are several pavilions, grills and picnic tables, with playgrounds and recreation fields (softball, volleyball and soccer) the park will lend equipment free. There are 20+ miles of hiking trails, a 2 mile paved road good for walking, jogging and biking. At sunset dozens of deer venture out into the fields to graze, there are many birdwatching and wildlife watching opportunities. It's easy to spend a whole day in this wonderful park that usually isn't very crowded.

1: Start out going West on RT 40 (also Rt 322)
2: Stay on RT 40 West
3: Follow the signs for Mays Landing RT 50
4: Make a RIGHT at RT 50 exit
5: Make a sharp Left onto RT 50 South
6: Turn LEFT and proceed to the 5th light (McDonalds and Mobil at corner)
7: Make a LEFT onto RT. 50 South
8: The park entrance is 3 or 4 miles south of Mays Landing on the left of Route 50
