About The Ventnor Merchants Association
The Ventnor Merchants Association is a vibrant business organization dedicated to the promotion of our five business districts. A primary purpose of the association is to promote and preserve Ventnor City as a viable and vibrant destination for the Jersey Shore residents and visitors.
The mission of VMA is to be an advocate for business, to promote business alliances, to provide valuable benefits and services to our members and to be a leader for economic development efforts in Ventnor City. Our priorities and goals are:
- Promoting tourism development. Efforts toward this goal include maintaining and developing a website presence that provides useful and interesting information about the area and showcases businesses with webpage ads.
- Develop and implement events that attract people to our city. VMA sponsors and/or supports the following events: The Annual Polar Bear Swim and Chili Cook Off, Family Night Out, Le Tour De Ventnor, Nights in Ventnor Go Green and the 4th of July Volleyball Tournament.
- Fill buildings and retain businesses in the downtown area. Efforts toward this include keeping informed of development plans, new business interest and visiting and welcoming new business owners to our community. Members are also encouraged to patronize fellow business members.
- Provide a unified voice. Through representation with our City Government, members are kept informed of legislation affecting the different Ventnor business districts. Various methods of keeping members informed and soliciting feedback are used such as: monthly merchant meetings (1st Monday 7 to 8 pm at Ventnor City Hall - 2nd floor courtroom), email, personal visits from fellow members and direct mail.
Ventnor Merchants are encouraged to join and support the association, your input and participation will make a difference in our community.
